What does this test measure?

This test measures IgE antibodies to allergens from dogs, mainly skin flakes, saliva and urine that can be present in the air and on surfaces in the home. Dog allergy can cause a blocked nose, sneezing, itchy eyes, coughing or asthma symptoms. A blood sample is analysed for specific IgE to dog dander at an accredited laboratory. Results are usually given within 2–4 working days. IgE to dog dander You do not need to fast. Tell us about any allergic symptoms on contact with dogs. Good to know

Do I need to fast before my blood test?

For most tests, we recommend fasting for 10–12 hours before your appointment for the most accurate results. Water is fine. If your test does not require fasting, this will be noted in the test description.

What sample types are used?

Most of our tests use a standard venous blood sample (blood drawn from a vein in your arm). Some markers can also be tested via a finger-prick capillary sample — this will be indicated on the test page.

How accurate are the results?

All analyses are performed by accredited Swedish laboratories using the same methods as hospital labs. Our partner labs hold ISO 15189 accreditation, the international standard for medical laboratory quality.

Can I compare results over time?

Yes. Your Wellth dashboard stores all your previous results so you can track trends and see how your biomarkers change over time. This is especially useful for monitoring the impact of lifestyle changes.

What if my results show something concerning?

If any of your results fall outside normal ranges, this is flagged in your health report with a clear explanation and recommended next steps. For urgent findings, we will contact you directly.
