Inflammation
Test for Haemolysis and Inflammation
Inflammation
Combines haptoglobin, LD and CRP to assess whether red blood cells are breaking down and whether inflammation is present.
VAT-exempt medical service
Haptoglobin binds free haemoglobin in the blood and is used to assess haemolysis (breakdown of red blood cells). Low levels can indicate haemolytic anaemia. The blood sample is analysed at a certified laboratory. Results within 1–3 days. S-Haptoglobin. Fasting is not required. Please tell us if you have anaemia or a previous blood disorder. On the Day of the Test Bring ID and sit still for a while before the sample is taken. What Happens Next? The result will be shared with you. If the values are abnormal, further investigation may be needed.
Haptoglobin
Haptoglobin is the protein that swoops in when red blood cells break down, binding the loose haemoglobin before it can cause damage. Cleanup crew, basically.
Lactate Dehydrogenase
Lactate dehydrogenase (LD) is an enzyme found in nearly all cells. Elevated levels indicate tissue damage somewhere in the body.
CRP, high-sensitivity
CRP is a protein the liver produces during inflammation. The high-sensitivity version measures low levels accurately and is used to assess long-term, low-grade inflammation.

Your values appear in your account with reference ranges and an explanation of each marker.
For most tests, we recommend fasting for 10–12 hours before your appointment for the most accurate results. Water is fine. If your test does not require fasting, this will be noted in the test description.
Most of our tests use a standard venous blood sample (blood drawn from a vein in your arm). Some markers can also be tested via a finger-prick capillary sample — this will be indicated on the test page.
All analyses are performed by accredited Swedish laboratories using the same methods as hospital labs. Our partner labs hold ISO 15189 accreditation, the international standard for medical laboratory quality.
Yes. Your Wellth dashboard stores all your previous results so you can track trends and see how your biomarkers change over time. This is especially useful for monitoring the impact of lifestyle changes.
If any of your results fall outside normal ranges, this is flagged in your health report with a clear explanation and recommended next steps. For urgent findings, we will contact you directly.
